Datawise MEASURES is the best tool I have available to me as a fourth grade teacher. It gives me a quick overview of what my students are learning and how best to continue to deliver that education. As a teacher at Amelia Earhart School, I have used MEASURES in many ways to help improve the learning experience for my students.

First, I began the school year by using MEASURES to quickly identify the academic level of my new students. With last school year's information in hand, I assessed the students myself to check their current status. Then, I set up curriculum modification plans for both the "at risk" students and other students. Meanwhile, as a grade level team, we met to set goals for intervention and discuss the year's curriculum and pacing guides. When asked by my team who needs intervention, I had student names immediately available.

Finally, after each Theme Skill, or district Math benchmark, I use MEASURES to immediately find the areas where re-teaching is necessary. Small groups are formed in the classroom, parent volunteers are called in and the homework is modified as necessary. The feedback received from parents tells me that they appreciate the results. A grandmother of a student recently stopped me in a local store to thank me. With tears in her eyes she said, "My granddaughter knows her nines because of that little group you put her in."

Could I do my job without MEASURES? I could do my job without the use of MEASURES. However, I would be manually analyzing my student's scores and eventually making the curriculum adjustments. MEASURES makes the process of learning faster and the process of teaching more efficient.
